THQ Nordic buys “Outcast” IP

THQ Nordic It was announced today that the acquisition of the intellectual property “Outcast” has been completed with the three original creators of the game.

Franck Sauer, Yann Robert and Yves Grolet have been working together for the past 30 years. His most important game is Outcast, launched in 1999. In 2015, Franck, Yann and Yves revived Appeal, to work on new games based in the Outcast universe.

The acquisition will be administered by THQ Nordic AB, headquartered in Karlstad, Sweden, and day-to-day operations (sales and distribution, evaluation of successors and new content, etc.) will be conducted through THQ Nordic GmbH in Vienna, Austria.

Let’s remember that Outcast – Second Contact died on November 14, 2017 last year and is a remake of the 1999 cult title that touched on the basics of action games and adventures from the open world. The title is published by Bigben Interactive and developed by Appeal and will now also be part of THQ Nordic’s large IPS collection.
