The Nintendo Switch version of Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire has been canceled

The sequel to Obsidian’s well-known RPG, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, has canceled its Nintendo Switch version.

That’s what the publisher, Versus Evil, reported via their Discord channel.

” Hey ! Unfortunately, and after much deliberation, we have decided not to continue with Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire for Nintendo Switch.


The port was originally announced in 2018. He withdrew several times, then left to have new information on him to retire.

Last February, against evil also announced that it will stop updates to the first Pillars of Eternity in its Nintendo Switch version. He noted that the reason for the cancellation was the Nintendo console’s hardware limitations, explaining that “it’s hit a limit on what we can do with game updates.”
