Summer Games Done Quick is back to celebrate this summer, this time in a current version

Summer Games Done Quick, the annual speedrunning event, returns to celebrate this year, but for the first time in two years and since the pandemic, the 2022 edition will return to center stage.

Organizers Games Done Quick announced the decision to temporarily convert the event to remote control in June 2020, and it has kept it in its summer and winter editions ever since.

However, according to its official page, Summer Games Done Quick will be the first event to be celebrated in a current fashion and will take place between June 26 and July 3. It will return to its traditional location in Bloomington, Minnesota. Registration for participants is active until April 18.

That is to say, the organizers have made it clear that participants will have to show vaccination tests and use masks. Additionally, there will be safety and social distancing measures, with reduced fire and some aspects of the event (like signage) will not take place at this time.

Games Done Quick also indicated that the current edition may be canceled or adjusted depending on changing medical conditions. And, as always, for those unable to attend in person, it will be streamed in its entirety via Twitch.

Awesome Games Done Quick, the last speedrun event organized by the group at the start of the year, raised more than three million euros for the beneficiaries.
