Capcom has confirmed that saved games from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 can be transferred to future releases for a new generation.
The Japanese company announced the basics for my native PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of all three games, including all visual enhancements to take advantage of Sony and Microsoft console hardware. Moreover, it is ensured that users who download previous generation versions will be able to update these new versions for free, at no cost.
Now, in a little notice on Twitter, we’ve also revealed that we can import our progress from the PlayStation 4 version to the PlayStation 5 or from the Xbox One to the Xbox Series X/S, and that the DLC for the Gold version of Resident Evil 7 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will also be able to transfer the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S version of Resident Evil 7.
Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2022, on a concrete date yet to be determined.
We are happy to confirm that save data from the original PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of these games will carry over to their respective updated versions. The DLC that came with Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition will also be transferred! https://t.co/FVVTPuHBQs
