Last week, several video game companies began announcing that they would suspend services and sales in Russia after Ukraine invaded parts of the country. Now, Sony has officially confirmed that it is suspending digital sales and product shipments to Russia for the time being.
Sony has already made the decision before silently caesar the sale of Gran Turismo 7 in Russia last Friday, but now it has announced that the measures will be extended to all its products until the end of the attack on Ukraine.
“Sony Interactive Entertainment is part of the global community calling for peace in Ukraine,” the company said in a statement. “We have suspended all hardware and software shipments, the launch of Gran Turismo 7, and PlayStation Store operations in Russia.”
Sony added that it will also send humanitarian aid to Ukraine with a two million dollar donation.
