PlayStation, in its American subsidiary, cut at least 90 jobs.
The positions were located in the marketing and sales division, according to the report Axiosand basically wanted to do with physical sales.
Axios assures that Sony has made this reduction in size as part of a “global transformation”, because physical stores are each time less important in the video game market.
In recent years, the number of digital sales has increased considerably – even more with the pandemic – and the importance of physical sales has been explained. But, above all, the removal of some Sony workstations linked to the way in which marketing is carried out could indicate changes in the way Sony offers information to users.
