Overwatch 2 will have a closed beta this month

Activision Blizzard has announced a closed beta of Overwatch 2, along with the inclusion of a new hero in the game.

In a dev diary posted yesterday, director Aaron Keller explained that “testing logs and feedback gave us the confidence to know we’re building something you’re going to love.”

This closed beta will take place at the end of April and will be open to employees of the American company as well as Overwatch League players, “to be ready for the next season”. Players wishing to participate can contact the official website.

Keller also assured that “we would like to thank our players for their continued support. We recognize that we have not communicated well, we have not held on and, in fact, we have failed when it comes to development. Overwatch content”. .

And it will add significant changes, as “we have been reviewing Overwatch 2 in your feedback, with the aim of ensuring that it is a live game, giving our players emotional content on a regular basis” . This caused Blizzard to decide to separate the PvE element from traditional PvP, and will allow players to try Overwatch 2 sooner than expected.

“After the first closed beta, we’re planning more public PvP testing,” Keller said, “with new features, new maps, and yes, new heroes.”

Overwatch 2 has been pushed back from November to 2023, along with Diablo IV. Basically, it will have versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
