Nintendo Switch has already sold 103.54 million units worldwide, which means it has surpassed the number of Wii consoles sold throughout the console’s cycle. In total, the Wii sold 101.6 million consoles.
No other Nintendo console comes close to these numbers, although the Nintendo DS family has sold a total of 154 million units.
Of these 103.54 million consoles sold – as of December 31, 2021 – 81.68 million are from the original Switch model, 17.87 million from the Lite model and the OLED model, launched last year, has sold 3 .99 million.
As Sony explained in its financial report yesterday, sales of Nintendo consoles have also been affected by the lack of chips and semi-components.
