God of War is the next video game that will blow the small screen.
According to the information Deadline, Amazon is in negotiations to adapt Sony’s popular franchise into a series that will play in Prime Video. It will feature Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, creators and executive producers of The Expanse, alongside The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins. Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions will also be involved in the project, overseeing it.
Fergus and Ostby also have big reputations after being nominated for an Oscar for directing Sons of Men, one of Alfonso Cuarón’s best films, and writing the screenplay for the first Iron-Man movie. Judkins, oddly enough, also collaborated with Marvel, as a writer and producer on the Agents of SHIELD TV series.
God of War launched in 2005 on PlayStation 2 and has since become one of the most iconic PlayStation franchises. His latest release, God of War, went public in 2018 and has been an effective critic and publicist. The sequel, God of War: Ragnarok, is due out this year on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, if there are no setbacks to its launch.
