Within the first 24 hours of launch, Sony Santa Monica’s God of War PC port surpassed 50,000 concurrent users on Steam.
To date, the maximum number has reached 65,000 players, with around 63,000 concurrent users as of this writing, according to the official Steam page.
God of War is Sony’s fourth first-party game to launch on PC, following last year’s Horizon: Zero Dawn, Days Gone and Death Stranding. Next year, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves will arrive.
According to game director Cory Barlog in an interview, the initiative to bring these titles to PC came from the students, not Sony.
The port of God of War on PC, on the other hand, left, in general, good feelings. As for the numbers, and for reference, they’re pretty similar to Horizon: Zero Dawn in its PC launch, which also kicked off with a peak of 50,000 concurrent users on day one.
