Final Fantasy VI’s Pixel Remaster already has a release date

Square Enix has confirmed the release date for Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster.

The new, graphically enhanced version of the classic JRPG originally released for SNES in 1994 will be available on iOS and Android mobile platforms, and on PC via Steam, starting February 23.

Among other things, the Pixel Remaster has updated 2D graphics supervised by Kazuko Shibuya, a remastered soundtrack supervised by Nobuo Uematsu and improved quality of life types such as tactical controls, modernized interface, auto battles and more.

Additionally, the Japanese company revealed that users who make a reservation through Steam will receive a series of extras, such as four wallpapers, five music tracks and a 20% discount. The songs are as follows:

  • The Decisive Battle (Timelapse Remix)
  • Terra Theme (Timelapse Remix)
  • Finding Friends (Timelapse Remix)
  • Locke’s Theme (Timelapse Remix)
  • Aria di Mezzo Carattere (Instrumental)
