After months of rumors, Activision has officially confirmed that it is working on a version of Call of Duty: Warzone for mobile devices.
In a word article published in the official blog, the American company explains that “we are creating a new AAA mobile experience that will bring the emotional, fluid and enormous action of Call of Duty: Warzone to portable gamers”.
Because he is personally contracting for separate positions, which will unite “a growing team of mobile veterans, multi-award winners and emerging talent”.
This new Warzone is created from scratch and will not be a port of the current Warzone for consoles and PC. The game will be designed to “keep players around the world for many years to come”, also confirming that it will follow a pattern of constant updates like the Warzone we know today.
What’s even more interesting is that this Call of Duty: Warzone for mobile is already being developed in Barcelona, specifically in Digital Legends. The Catalan study was bought by Activision at the end of last year and will be converted into the first internal study of the American company to develop a Call of Duty for mobile.
The new Call of Duty: Warzone for mobile devices still doesn’t have a launch date, but the fact that it’s personally contracted right now indicates it still has a long way to go.
