Snorri Arnason, game manager Project Nova, reports that EVE Online’s multiplayer shooter and spin-off have been canceled due to not living up to expectations. Fortunately, the London studio is already working on a new shooter.

The news was revealed during the presentation of Pearl Abyss Quarterly Financial Report (we remember Pearl Abyss bought CCP Games), who recently commented that they had one 11% below compared to the same quarter last year.
According to Arnason, “We are developing the New Age beyond our early access plans, and the development will continue in our study of London. Personally, I am optimistic about this, but I’m also sad because it means the project name Project Nova has been removed. completely and the London team will have to look for a new one ”.
Snorri Arnason notes this the decision was not made in return for the tax resultif only the London team had worked on very interesting ideas and concepts that are perfectly matched in a shooting game.
In addition, we already had on the official page of the project a notice in which this decision was left, and canceled the following test phases until further notice;
During the development of, we conducted a series of research sessions of players with external partners, we inevitably try the game internally and work with members of the community to help us evaluate the project. Now, having taken all this research and comments into account, we see that the gaming experience in its current form is not at the height of our original vision and did not reach our ambitious goals for this project. As a result, we will not be moving forward with the next Alpha until further notice.

We hope to understand that we need to take a step back and review everything from the beginning to discover how all this hard work can be translated into something better and more meaningful for the EVE universe.
