Capcom announced sales corresponding to the last nine months of 2021, the third quarter of the fiscal year. As of December 31, 2021, total sales increased by 35.9% and brought in a value of $770 million. That is to say that Capcom’s profits increased by 52.4%.
Much of this increase is attributed to the surge in digital sales. In fact, Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin did particularly well in its digital format. In total, Capcom sold 25.8 million video game units this year. Resident Evil 7 maintained its good trend, surpassing 10 million copies.
These are the highest third-quarter earnings and sales figures in Capcom’s history.
