In general, the more players have their games in their ecosystem, the healthier it will be in terms of income as coverage, because the figures in a recent report to Activision investors may be a cause for concern.
According to the report, the number of players in Call of Duty titles has dropped dramatically over the past year, from 150 million players in 2021 to around 100 million now, the most pronounced spread the series has seen since the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone in 2020.

Most of the blame for this fall, at least from the investor report’s point of view, is the lower premium sales of Call of Duty: Vanguard and a concomitant increase in trading with Warzone.

On the other hand, the game is already several years old, so the disqualification of players is not necessarily a problem as big as it might seem in principle, but a natural consequence of the game’s useful life.
This may be a major concern for an editor without the financial power of Activision Blizzard, especially after its acquisition by Microsoft in January, but it is still unknown what to fix in the future.
