Baldur’s Gate 3 ‘unlikely’ to survive this year, says Larian

Larian has confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 is highly unlikely to launch in 2022. Part of the game is now available on Steam, and Stadia has been in Early Access since 2020.

“We think we’re in our final year of development,” Swen Vincke, founder of Larian and creative director of Baldur’s Gate 3, explained in an interview with Eurogamer UK last week.

“So it’s unlikely to happen this year. [2022] the year the game ends. But we are already at the end, so we see the light at the end of the tunnel, and we have very concrete plans. »

In a press release issued yesterday, Larian added that “the internal target for the launch is not a date, but a level of quality. Much progress has been made in this regard in the last year of Acceso Anticipado, but we know many players are waiting for a date. At this time, we expect Baldur’s Gate 3 to launch Acceso Anticipado in 2023.”

Larian also confirmed that this year there will be more updates for the pre-stock version. The last park, launched yesterday, occupied 32 GB, and added the Barbaro class.

The final park also improves the user interface, adds reinforced weapons, introduces improvised weapons – map elements that can be used to fight enemies, can even throw small enemies – and improves the light and weapon system. darkness in the game.
