AMD Officially Announces Version 2.0 of FidelityFX Super Resolution Technology

AMD has officially announced version 2.0 of its updated FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) technology.

As the North American company explains, FSR 2.0 will use data from previous frames to generate similar or even better image quality than native, increasing the frame rate at the same time. Its result is similar to Nvidia’s DLSS, although in the case of AMD this process takes place without machine learning and is, moreover, compatible not only with the latest Radeon graphics cards, but also with Nvidia and Intel GPUs.

Frank Azor, AMD’s Chief Gaming Solutions Architect, said FSR 2.0 “will inject new life into current-generation graphics cards, to improve performance and deliver superior immersive experiences.” powerful functions that break the limits in the immersion of games”.

The launch of FSR 2.0 is scheduled for the second quarter of 2022, although before (yes, of course) the new Adrenalin drivers for AMD graphics cards will be available. They include advanced AMD Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) and Radeon Image Sharpening (RIS) technologies to improve image quality.
